Forgive yourself!

Accept responsibility for what occurred. Because of the errors you committed. Because you didn’t show up the way you needed to. You’re mad with yourself for not being the person you wanted to be. You’re a person. You did the best you could with what you knew and what you had at the time, and that’s all you can ask. You’re still gaining knowledge. You’re still figuring things out. And all of this takes time. You have permission to take that time.

You’re also free to show up in the world with flaws. It’s okay to fail at something you put a lot of effort into. You have the right to admit that you made a mistake. It’s okay to be someone who is still discovering out their path and calling. And you have permission to forgive yourself. You can’t undo the choices you’ve made in the past, but you can choose what you do today. You have the option to choose again and again. You have the option to start afresh. That is where your power resides. Now is the time. Too don’t be so hard on yourself.

No more tormenting yourself with the past by going over it over and over in your thoughts. What happened happened, and no amount of shame or self-hatred can change it. You’re beginning fresh today. Today, you’re making progress with your newfound knowledge and experiences. Today, you have the freedom to be the person you want to be and live the life you choose. You’re not a horrible person in any way. You are not a letdown or a failure. You’re simply a regular person. You’re still learning, developing, and figuring things out. And that’s OK. You’re going to be OK.
